Low Blood Sugar Signs and Symptoms
- Cold and clammy skin
- Pale
- Poor balance
- Confusion and aggression
- Feeling faint
- Weak
- Confused
High Blood Sugar Signs and Symptoms
- Hot and dry skin
- Frequent urination
- Thirst
- Sweet, fruity smelling breath
Treatment
Unconscious Patient
- DRSABCD
- Give nil by mouth
Conscious Patient
Low Blood Sugar
- Give them a sweet, sugary drink every 15 minutes until they recover
- When the patient is recovered give them a sandwich to eat
- If the patient is not recovering call for emergency help
High Blood Sugar
- Seek medical assistance if needed
- Drink sugar free fluids
