You keep me high in the clouds
On a pedestal
but I'm afraid I won't be able to return
When you love me at this height
My acquaintances will be mountains and birds
I've heard they aren't good company
For when you reach the best bit of the mountains
They tend to disappear in front of your eyes
You can't even see yourself
And birds are clever – old descendants
You can't trust them, though
They fly away from you
They leave you on a cloud
Look at your human feet
And you know the reason why
