CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Druid Chook was trying to entice myrtle, one of Marcus Diads favourite goats, to him. He wanted her caught so that she could be ridden. Goats were the favoured mode of transport on Skard. Marcus Diad had released all his goats at the time prior to the great invasion and these goats had joined the wild woolly hill goat herds, that rambled about the nearby sandstone hills.

Druid Chook wandered over the hills behind the goat saying such things as “Awe come on Myrtle. I’m not going to hurt you.” And “ I just want to put a saddle on you. It won’t hurt” and “ Oh come on. Come here. Here Myrtle Myrtle Myrtle be a good goat!”

Greebie watched him from a distant window in the Pyx sanctuary. He could see the goat ambling about moving from one patch of grass to another and behind it Druid Chook chasing it then stopping then chasing it some more.

Myrtle was indifferent.
