Act 2.12
(Christian sits on a long bench, King Hamlet’s head in his lap. The king rests, near sleep. Claudius approaches. )
King:
Is that my angel with salvation?
Christian:
This is the angel who has come to end your vast privation.
King:
Thank God, good Christian.
Christian:
Thank God, King Hamlet.
(Claudius pours the poison in the king’s ear. The king appears to relax further and then shouts)
King:
Avenge me.
