Hydrogen

Hydrogen is the first element in many ways. It is the element that fuels the sun and stars, it is the most abundant element in the Universe, and it is the first element of the periodic table. It has a unique chemistry including its ability to form hydrogen bonds that are so important for defining the structure of life, and it makes more compounds than any other element.
